I'm Soda-Lighted...

Hello Internet Land!  Melissa here.  Isn't it crazy how life is so insanely busy?  I'm still a single momma and crafting has taken a back burner.  I had no idea that as children grew from toddlers to teenagers that life became even more crazy!  But, every once in a while I still am able to get some stuff done and will try to post a little more frequently.  Anyway, this year I gave these as gifts to my neighbors and coworkers.  At first I was using flashlights, but then I couldn't find anymore (of the *ahem* less expensive option I was going for) so I was lucky to stumble upon 2 packs of these light bulbs!  Problem solved.  My kids thought I was weird for giving out light bulbs but if that's the only thing that makes me bizarre in their eyes I'll take it!

Merry Christmas!

December Cards

I haven't been posting my cards for card group while my computer was out of commission so I'll get started again.  My card group makes Christmas tags instead of card in December and here are the two I did this year.

Joy Frames!

I went to Hobby Lobby today with the intention of making one last Thanksgiving project but instead I got sidetracked by all the Christmas hoopla and left without any of the original supplies I was going to buy!  Can anyone else relate to that?  lol.  Anyway, a while ago I saw these adorable holiday frames at eighteen25 and have never gotten around to making my version of them.  All the supplies were on sale this week, and I knew I would have a little free time tonight (rare) so I decided to finally give them a try.   I love, love the way they turned out.  I think I'm going to make a few more for other holidays too.  Just, FYI, I bought the frames at Dollar Tree and painted them black.  My final cost, including the frames was only $6.00 plus tax (I had the paint and glitter already).  Woot Woot!  I love under $10.00 projects!

Sorry, I didn't take step-by-step pics but the gals over at eighteen25 are ah-mazing (it's been one of my favorite blogs for a while now) so head on over and get the details....I promise it's super easy and took me under an hour.

P.S.  I didn't realize until I posted the first picture how AWFUL my bedroom paint color looks.  Keep in mind I took these pictures at 11:00 p.m. with my overhead light on...during the day it's a beautiful gold color, not mustard.  eww.

December, 2011 Craft Club!

The email on this one has gone out but in case I missed anyone here is what we will be making for the December craft club!  I have had a thing for candy canes for the past couple of years and thought it would be fun to finally make something instead of just thinking about them.  Also, a few things about craft club have changed.

1)  You can purchase a kit and finish the product on your own!

or

2)  If you don't want to make it yourself I will finish yours for an additional fee!

Here are the details...Club will be held on December 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.  Money is due by November 19, 2011.  Unfinished kits are $10.00 (you will be on your own for the paint and glue), finished kits are $12.50 and if you want me to make yours the price is $17.50.  Send me an email at mapleandvine@hotmail.com if you are interested in joining the mailing list for future crafts and/or the December craft.  Let me know if you have any questions about craft club!  If you live outside the Utah County area and are interested in the craft send me an email and I'll see what we can work out for shipping.

Hope you can make it!
